EA’s FIFA World Cup - only 59p! (iPhone)

Electronic Art’s FIFA World Cup is currently available for 59p. I’m sure I saw this before for much more, so not sure how long this price is good for.

An OK footie game, enjoyable enough but suffers the same problems as the rest that have gone before it - a full on football game on iPhone’s small screen is always going to be limited. Though for 59p it’s worth checking out. Being an official FIFA tie-in, it has all the correct player names too.

Running Mirror’s Edge. Awesome. (iPad)

Electronic Arts Mirror’s Edge sees you take control of underground ‘Runner’, Faith Connors, making her way across the city with a perfect society and a dark secret.

The controls are kept simplistic and effective - running, sliding, rolling and jumping through buildings and across cityscapes - and the visuals are just stunning, the first game that I’ve seen that starts to get to gaming console levels.

Mirror’s Edge is a real joy to play, once in it’s difficult to put down. There’s a nice split screen 2 player race option too which also adds.

Judging by user reviews it’s seen as being a bit too expensive for what it offers - the one player game is excellent, but pretty easy to complete and could do with some additional levels - however just over a fiver for such a slickly produced game is within the realms of reasonable in my eyes.

Mirror’s Edge for iPad is £5.49
