Nigella Lawson’s Quick Collection (iPhone)

Nigella Lawson hits the iPhone with her ‘Quick Collection’ app. 70 recipes, 60 are taken from her best selling recipe books (How To Eat, How To Be A Domestic Goddess, Nigella Bites and Nigella Express) and 10 are new and exclusive to this app.

Looks very nice (though doesn’t feel quite as well put together as Jamie Oliver’s 20min Meals iPhone app) and does everything you’d expect from a half decent cooking recipe app - there’s some nice video, photos, etc - but the voice control feature for moving through a recipe without having to touch your iPhone is a nice touch.

Nigella Quick Collection for iPhone is £1.19 on App Store.

A smart app from a smart supermarket

Hats off to Waitrose for coming up with an app that’s more than just an mobile ordering tool and store finder.

They’ve designed an app that offers up nice recipes and cooking tools (conversion calculators, cooking times for meat, how to vids) in addition to the usual shopping list and special offer promotions you’ll find in other supermarket apps.

The iPhone Waitrose app is free on App Store.
