Streetcar (iPhone)

If you’re a member of pay-as-you-go car club Streetcar and you have an iPhone, then you need to get the Streetcar app.

Use it to find out where the nearest car is, see if it’s available, reserve it, get photos of where the car is actually parked and then even use it to unlock the car doors!

Streetcar for iPhone is free on App Store.

Get your head round Boris’ bikes (iPhone)

So what’s the deal with Boris’ bikes? Well now you can find out with London Cycle.

It’ll tell you where all the bike stations (are they still stations?) are for you to pick up and drop off your ride, how much you’re racking up in charges and rumour has it that it serves as a very decent bicycle route finder too (some say better than google maps).

London Cycle: Maps & Routes for iPhone is free on App Store.

TripIt puts all your travel info in one place (iPhone)

TripIt is a truly kickass travel organiser, used a lot by those that do lots of travelling but still really useful for the more casual traveller too. It keeps all your travel info in one place, flight details, hotel and hire car reservations, etc - and the best thing about it is you don’t need to waste time manually filling in the details, simply send your travel confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com and it’ll automatically build your itinerary for you. Genius.

Note: You need to setup a free online account at tripit.com to be able to use the iPhone app.

TripIt for iPhone is free.
